The Advanced/Competitive program meets on for on-the-water coaching Monday and Wednesday mornings, 5:30-7:00 a.m., from May 12 through August 27, 2008.  (Please arrive 5-10 minutes early, so that we can be on the water by 5:30 a.m.)  This program will provide coaching and workouts for advanced rowers and those training seriously for both sprint and head races.  Sweep rowing and sculling will be addressed, with men, women, and mixed crews rowing 1x, 2x, 2-, 4x, 4-, 4+, and 8+s.

Monthly training plans will be provided, with workouts for 6 days/week.  Coaching will currently be provided weekly on Monday mornings beginning May 12.  Wednesday mornings will be "videotape days", with bigger boats being the focus.  Interim coaches for Wednesday mornings will vary.  Please arrive early so we can be on the water, ready for coaching or videotaping, by 5:30 a.m.

The Interim Coach for the Advanced Competitive Program is Pat McKeon of Ft. Collins.  Pat learned to row at TC Williams High School, and was a Stotesbury Champion in the Jr. 8, as well as SRA Champion in the Lighweight 8.  He began sculling thirty years ago, and continued his rowing career with the University of Virginia.  Since then, he's been a member of various clubs around the country, including RMRC, and won various singles races, including Great Plains Championships in the Lightweight and Open single.  He coached scullers in Los Gatos, CA, as well as RMRC - in various sculling clinics.  We're thankful he'll be making the trek from Ft. Collins to help whip us into shape on Monday mornings!

The cost of the 2008 program is $175 and membership is also required.  Participants in the Advanced/Competitive program have priority for use of club racing shells on the mornings the program meets, Mondays/Wednesdays.

Intra-club competitions dubbed the "Friday Friendlies" will be held at 5:30 a.m. on Fridays, June 6 - August 29, with 1000m and longer pieces.  Friday Friendlies are races which are open to the entire club whether you are in a coached program or not.  So come out and join us!

We expect to travel with the club trailer to several regattas this year, and members also compete in additional races on an ad hoc basis by cartopping or borrowing/renting boats.  Please refer to the website regatta calendar for a comprehensive list.
